Sunset Sands is your home away from home.  Your happy place!  Let your cares wash away with the cool ocean breeze, sunny warm days and soothing sound of the waves all day and all night.

Enjoy the walks on the beach, naps in the sun on the balcony in the comfy reclining chairs, or go out and about all over San Diego and the surrounding lovely Southern California spots to explore.

Eat!  Everything you need is in the kitchen for you to prepare any kind of home cooked menu.  Within a very short walking distance you can purchase food items. A little longer jaunt is a big complete grocery store.  And beyond that are many varieties of grocery stores.

Eat out!  Within a few steps of the condo are restaurants and coffee shops.  A little farther are many more restaurants.  San Diego is loaded with fabulous places to eat!

You could spend your entire vacation right here!  No need for a car or to leave. However, if you want to get out and about there are so many options!  The boardwalk is 2 miles long from the jetty to the south to the Crystal Pier to the north.  We are very close to the bus route.  Uber and Lyft are available, as well as taxis.  Many tourist places are very close - within 20 minutes!  Downtown, Old Town, Seaport Village,  Little Italy,  Sea World, the Zoo, tide pooling, water activities, shopping! wineries! beaches! beach towns!

San Diego has near perfect weather.  It does have some variable days but it won't be too hot or too cold.  Moderate and mild, semi-arid Mediterranean climate.
Pack sandals, light jacket, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses.

We have been lucky enough to have Sunset Sands since 1996.  It has gone through many changes and upgrades.  We stay there ourselves and continually make improvements.  The location is perfect!  The balcony is private.  It feels like you and nature are one when you look out and see the Pacific Ocean - no neighbors in sight!  
But if you want to see the activity look down and see the walkers, joggers, bikers, roller bladers on the boardwalk.

We are on the top floor of a 3 story small condo building - no sounds of others above.  There is an elevator if you need it, otherwise 2 flights of stairs.
For seniors or those with physical limitations we have widened the bathroom door, put in accessible bars in the bathroom, shower and at the toilet.  We have low pile commercial carpet so wheelchairs, walkers and rolling luggage are easier to maneuver and roll over.  Let us know if a toilet seat riser is requested.
